Quick-Start Class

Welcome to KAYAK 101.  If you are interested in learning how to kayak and are just getting into the sport, then this class is a must.  Our expert kayak guides will help teach you everything you need to know about Kayaks, Paddles, Strokes, Techniques, Rescue and Gear.  The instruction that we provide is for beginners and covers skills needed for recreational paddling.  We are not training Olympic athletes, so don't worry, this is a very relaxed atmosphere. 

 Each student will receive one-on-one instruction if needed.  A paddle on the lake is a must for all participants.  We want you to try out your new skills, build your self-confidence, and feel comfortable on the water.  Our goal is for you to learn a new skill while having fun with your friends.

Instruction, Kayak, Paddle, PFD (life jacket), and FUN

Florida conditions can be extreme, so it is important to be prepared to get the best enjoyment from your trip.  Our guides are very familiar with the paddling environment. Please feel free to ask any questions you would like in order to understand all you need to be confident about your trip. Please understand, we will not launch in unsafe conditions including high winds and thunderstorms.

What to wear….
Clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet.
Warm weather… Swim suit/board shorts & T shirt.
Cool weather… the same with nylon cover-ups ( Avoid cotton if possible).
Shoes – preferably full sandals that can be worn in the water. 
Hat & sunglasses are great.

SUNSCREEN – very important!
